Hinting at the magnitude of the fraud committed with the residents, three more cases of fraud were registered against seven Ferozepur residents who had duped a number of persons in the rural belt on the pretext of giving them handsome returns on their money.

The swindlers lured the innocent and semi-literate persons in the rural belt, including small farmers, to deposit regular instalments in various policies and schemes of the company. Now, the company has stopped its operations abruptly. Earlier, the police had registered two separate cases against the seven persons, all residents of Ferozepur. Now, three fresh cases have been registered against the same suspects.

Daljit Singh, son of Gurmej Singh, and Nishan Singh, son of Gulzar Singh, both residents of Rakh Uthia village, and Major Singh, son of Tara Singh of Panj Goraya Nijjara village, lodged separate complaints against the accused.

Daljit Singh alleged that the accused duped him of over Rs 10 lakh while Nishan Singh was defrauded of Rs 20 lakh. Similarly, the accused swindled more than Rs 60 lakh from Major Singh.

In their complaints to the police, they alleged that the accused lured them to invest in their company’s policies and schemes. Tempted by the promises of handsome returns, they also involved their relatives for investing in the schemes. However, now they had only to repent.
