Three hurt in clash outside restaurant

Three youngsters were injured after a group of persons attacked them outside a restaurant in the Ranjit Avenue area here on Wednesday evening. 

The victims have been identified as Ravi Arora of Shakti Nagar, Simardeep Singh and Gaurav Dhawan of Golden Avenue area. After the attack, they were immediately admitted to a local hospital. The accused hit Ravi with a brick.

Police officer Gurdial Singh, who is investigating the matter, said a minor altercation while dancing in the restaurant led to the incident. 

He said the investigation was on to identify the  suspects, who fled from the spot after the attack. 

Simardeep told the police that they were enjoying dinner and dancing in the restaurant when they had a minor altercation with some persons. Simardeep said, “Along with Ravi, Gaurav and others, I came out of the restaurant. However, the accused called their associates and attacked us outside the restaurant,” he added. 

A case under Sections 323, 341, 379-B and 149 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. — TNS
