Students of Khalsa College International Public School, Ranjit Avenue, on Tuesday participated in a door-to-door drive to spread the message of no-crackers on Diwali.

The drive was held in the Ranjit Avenue area. They informed the people about the harmful effects of bursting crackers.

They sensitised the residents through banners and placards, mentioning the ill effects on health caused due to smoke emanated by crackers.

These young messengers also talked about cleaning the area.

DN Sandhu, principal of the school, said, “We want to tell our kids that they should be responsible for change in society. We want to inculcate such feelings due to which the drive was organised. Students from classes VI to X took part in the event.”

Gunbir Singh, environmentalist, said, “The idea is to promote eco-Diwali. People generally listen to children. Let them be the change.”
