Soni visits GMC, assures financial support

AMRITSAR: Medical Education and Research Minister Om Parkash Soni made his maiden visit to Government Medical College (GMC) after resuming office on Friday.

Medical Education and Research Minister Om Parkash Soni made his maiden visit to Government Medical College (GMC) after resuming office on Friday.

He chaired a meeting with Medical College Principal Sujata Sharma, vice-principal Veena Chatrath, and medical superintendent Dr Shivkaran Sharma and discussed various aspects about the working of the institution.

He said, “Minor problems of the college will be resolved within two months. The college will not face any financial crunch. The vacancies will be filled immediately.”

He instructed doctors to take their responsibilities seriously, so that patients do not face any inconvenience. He instructed the principal to get the beautification of all the parks in the college. Soni said that any negligence would not be tolerated. He visited college hostels and interacted with girls.
