SIT in city for Inderpreet’s suicide probe

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the suicidal death of Inderpreet Singh Chadha, son of former CKD president Charanjit Singh Chadha, today visited Amritsar.

As per reports, the team headed by IG (crime) LK Yadav visited the spot where Inderpreet shot himself dead while sitting in his SUV on the airport road. Police sources said the team also examined the SUV and visited Chadha’s hotel.

Inderpreet in his suicide note had doubted the integrity of certain police officials who could hamper the fair and unbiased investigation pertaining to his father’s case. Also, the Punjab Human Rights Organisation (PHRO) had urged the CM to constitute an SIT under a DGP rank official.

Sources said the Chadha family has handed over to the police the record of WhatsApp chat and call details between the woman in question and Charanjit.

Prabhjit Singh Chadha, son of Inderpreet Singh Chadha, had got registered an FIR against the woman and 10 others, allegedly responsible for the suicide, under Sections 306 and 120-B of the IPC.
