SGPC constitutes panel to appoint VC

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee (SGPC) has initiated the process to find a new Vice Chancellor for Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. The committee has constituted a high level panel for the purpose, said SGPC president Kirpal Singh Bandugar.

Members of the panel include former Punjab chief secretary Rupinder Singh Mann, former Punjab Public Service Commission member Amarjit Singh Sidhu, former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court Nirmal Singh, former principal secretary Darbara Singh Guru and SGPC member Paramjit Kaur Landra.

The position had fallen vacant after its Vice Chancellor Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia had submitted his resignation and joined Khalsa University as Vice Chancellor.

The SGPC chief said prominent personalities of various fields had been included on the panel to select a highly competent academician.
