Seven arrested with intoxicating tablets

The Amritsar rural police have nabbed three persons, including a woman, for allegedly possessing a huge quantity of intoxicating drugs.

The Beas police arrested Khajanchi Das and his wife Ritu, both residents of Kuhatwad Hindua village, from Sathiala and recovered 500 intoxicating capsules and 700 tablets from them. According to the police, they were travelling on a bike when they were intercepted at Sathiala.

Similarly, Makhajit Singh of Kartarpur was held by the Khilchian police with 600 intoxicating capsules and 420 tablets.

Meawnwhile, the police arrested Sukhjinder Singh of Dayal Bharang village, Ajay Singh of Mulechak village, Akashdeep Singh of Kallewal village and Lovejit Singh of Fatehgarh Sukarchak village for allegedly possessing intoxicating tablets. Separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against them.

Police authorities said that they were trying to ascertain whom did Khajanchi Das and Makhanjit procure the contraband from.
