Seminar on Guru Nanak’s philosophy held at CKD

The event is a part of series to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a seminar was held at Chief Khalsa Diwan(CKD) on Saturday.

Tarlochan Singh, former chairman, National Commission for Minorities, presided over as chief guest of the event. Dr Balwant Singh Dhillon, former head, Centre for Studies on Sri Guru Granth Sahib, spoke on the philosophy of Guru Nanak and talked about his contribution to world, Sikhism, his research papers, among others.

CKD president Nirmal Singh welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion. He said, “As part of our festivities to mark the 550 birth anniversary, we shall be holding seminars in Mumbai, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Delhi along with Amritsar.”

Tarlochan Singh, former chairman, National Commission for Minorities, said, “The teachings, philosophy of Guru Nanak should not be limited to a particular religion. It should be promoted propagated across world.”

CKD vice-president Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Sawinder Singh Kathunangal, Surinder Singh Rumalianwale were among the prominent present.
