Clean and revamped government schools in the district will welcome students post summer vacation.

District Education Officer Sunita Kiran has instructed the school heads to make sure that toilets are cleaned. In case there isn’’t one, construction work has to be taken up. Besides, the school heads will also ensure that no congress grass or other harmful weeds are found on the premises of their institutions.

Kiran said, “I keep interacting with students, staff and school principals. I have advised them to remove shortcomings, if any. Cleanliness and plantation should be carried out. Such orders have been sent to the school heads.”

Mandeep Kaur, head of a girls senior secondary school, said, “This is not a new thing but this time we have received it in writing.” The school heads have also been asked to put up board mentioning name of the school.

Ashwani Kumar, a government schoolteacher, said, “Cleaned and improved schools shall motivate young minds to focus on their studies properly.”
