Robbery at school

Around four armed persons with covered faces robbed the principal of Akal Academy, Dhotian, of his gold chain on Monday. The robbers also took away the school record and other belongings.

The police said school head Kuljit Kaur was in her office along with other staff members when four-five robbers turned up at the school gate. When questioned by security guard Gurjant Singh, they assaulted the latter and entered the school premises. The robbers pointed a pistol at the principal and others and threatened them into giving whatever they had. They took a gold chain of the principal and other belongings. After committing crime, they fled the spot.

ASI Harpal Singh, investigation officer, said the incident was captured in the CCTV cameras of the school. The police are scrutinising the footage to identify the robbers.

Tarsem Singh, Station House Officer, Sarhali police station, who visited the spot, said a case under Sections 452, 379-B, 323 and 34 of the IPC was registered.
