Amritsar, September 27

In the absence of fogging by the Municipal Corporation, residents of Fatehgarh Churian Road have started fogging on their own to protect themselves.

A non-government organisation has started to spray to kill mosquitoes in the Navi Abadi and the Rattan Singh chowk area.

The residents said that the area was not covered by the Municipal Corporation or the Health Department. Several persons have been suffering from dengue and other diseases in the area.

Dr JS Grover, office-bearer of Service Club, said, “I have been running a hospital in the area. The number of dengue and other viral-affected patients has been increasing day by day.

Then we inquire about the status of fogging. We found that the MC staff did not reach in the area for fogging till date”.

“Finally, we have decided to start fogging in the area. We have contacted the Pest Control Society of India and got the required chemical. We started spraying in the area from last Sunday”, said Dr Grover.
