Rally on environmental concerns

The FICCI FLO, in collaboration with various organisations including NCC, Amritsar Bicycle Club, Decathalon, GNDU and the police, on Saturday organised a green drive that saw students and volunteers join together to hold a cycle rally, marathon and walk to sensitise people to the environmental concerns. The event also witnessed seed dispersal drive at the GNDU and the police lines. Arushi Verma, chairperson, FICCI FLO, said the green drive was part of an initiative to plant and create awareness about environment. “Our motto is Let’s throw green to grow green. The drive is dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev and 50 glorious years of the GNDU. We adopted Gumtala bypass roundabout as FICCI Chowk to ensure that it becomes a reminder for citizens to grow and nurture trees,” she added.

The FLO had on Biodiversity Day initiated a seed dispersal drive. It plans to disperse 50,000 seeds by this season.
