AMRITSAR: The Punjab Natshala on Tuesday hosted a special evening celebrating the 442nd foundation day of Amritsar and 485th Parkash Utsav of Guru Ram Das.

The Punjab Natshala on Tuesday hosted a special evening celebrating the 442nd foundation day of Amritsar and 485th Parkash Utsav of Guru Ram Das. The event was held in collaboration with Sri Guru Ram Das Avtar Purab Commiittee and had presence of Cabinet Minister OP Soni, CKD president Nirmal Singh and SGPC Dharam Prachar Committee secretary Balwinder Singh Joura, among other dignitaries.

A play by Jaswant Minti titled Guru Ram Das Rakhhu Sarnai was also staged as a tribute to the religious leader. The play depicted the journey of Guru Ram Das and events leading to the foundation of Amritsar. Social activists Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjer and Surinder Kochchar were also awarded Sewa Samman for their distinguished services towards society.

Apart from the play, a shabad and kirtan performance was given by young artistes to close the proceedings.
