Prize distribution function held

MLA Sunil Dutti attended the fuction as the chief guest. Jugal Kishore Sharma, president, district Congress (Urban) was the special guest. A total of 21 students from Classes VI to XII were felicitated on the occasion. TNS

Over 6K intoxicants recovered 

Tarn Taran: The district police have recovered as many as 6,084 habit forming tablets from the possession of five persons from different places. The Chohla sahib police recovered 1,680 tablets from the possession of Shamsher Singh of Mallhian (Chabal) village, the driver of the combine harvest. The same police arrested Sukhbir Singh of Maniala village and recovered 1500 tablets and recovered 1,300 tablets from the possession of Paramjit Singh of Manake village. In another report, the local city police recovered 800 tablets from Joginder Singh of Warhian Purane and the Patti police recovered 804 tablets from the possession of Sajan Kumar of Patti village. The accused have been booked under Sections 22,61,85 of the NDPS Act. TNS

GNDU students to be honoured

Amritsar: The students who won the North Zone Youth festival organised at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, from January 12 to 16 and Inter-University National Youth Festival, organised at Ranchi from February 16 to 20 will be honoured at Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium on April 23.  Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation SS Ahluwalia will be the chief guest on the occasion. NCC cadets lend helping hand

Amritsar: NCC cadets of the first Punjab battalion, Amritsar, on Thursday helped patients, retd military personnel at ECHS polyclinic. The students of Senior Secondary School, Chhertra, near Amritsar helped the needy under ‘Sparsh’ project. TNS
