A man of charity, Man Mohan Kakkar (85), passed away at a private hospital after brief illness here yesterday. 

  Kakar family had built and donated TB Sanitarium and a children ward here for the public in 1950 and 1960, respectively. He had funded many such public facilities, including schools, community halls in Dalhousie, New Delhi, and other places. Kakar was the president of Ram Saran Dass Charitable Trust, being run by his family for the past one decade. He had recently got constructed a modern auditorium at Shri Ram Ashram School and provided scholarships to needy students, besides helping poor patients generously. 

A prayer meeting in his memory will be held tomorrow at Chinmaya Ashram, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar.
