Pensioners protest, demand early release of DA arrears

Members of the Punjab Pensioners Joint Front, Tarn Taran, staged a dharna here for fulfilling their long pending demands on Wednesday.

The protesters submitted their charter of demands to local MLA Dr Dharambeer Agnihotri, who assured the members that their demands would be put forward before the government for early resolution. 

Ajit Singh Fatehchak and Nirvair Singh Pannu, representatives of the front, while addressing the members, said their main demands included reintroduction of the cashless medical scheme after some reforms, release of pay commission report and pending installments of the DA.  

The members raised slogans against the state government for not taking notice of their demands seriously.
