Orientation programme at KCW concludes

AMRITSAR: The seven-day-long Summer Orientation Programme for students culminated at the Khalsa College for Women (KCW) here on Tuesday.

The seven-day-long Summer Orientation Programme for students culminated at the Khalsa College for Women (KCW) here on Tuesday. During the worskshop vital information on theoretical and practical aspect of various subjects including importance of language, painting, stitching and tailoring, community services, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, importance of nutritious and balance diet, games and sports.

Addressing the participants Principal Dr Manpreet Kaur, “Such programmes encourage the students and enhance their academic skills. It helps them refurbish their knowledge bank and increase their self-confidence to face challenges in their lives.” She said that such training programmes should be a mandatory part of academic curriculum. She cited the examples of various universities abroad, which are focusing on practical exposure. She also applauded the efforts of the department for this initiative.

In her speech, she said this camp was organised for the new entrants with the aim of familiarising them to the college and providing them valuable information.
