Now, take exam for admission to GNDU

AMRITSAR: From the upcoming session, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) will conduct its entrance examinations for students willing to take admissions to graduate and postgraduate courses.

From the upcoming session, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) will conduct its entrance examinations for students willing to take admissions to graduate and postgraduate courses.

The entrance examinations for particular courses will also be held on the GNDU regional campuses. However, to get admission to law and engineering courses, the common admission tests conducted by a recognised authority at state and national level will also be valid. Students interested in getting admissions to diplomas as well as certificate courses offered by the GNDU do not need take the entrance exam.

As per the current system, students get admission on the basis of qualifying criteria, which is based on the marks scored by students in the qualifying examination.

Dr Kamaljit Singh, Dean (Academic Affairs), GNDU, said, “The aim of conducting the entrance examination is to evaluate the aspirants in a fair manner. The idea is to give each and every student a chance to prove themselves. It will be enforced in the coming session 2018-2019.”

The online registration for the entrance examination will begin from March 30. The students are required to visit the website of the GNDU — www.gndu.ac.in. The details of the entrance exams will be available on the website.

“Students will get ample time to prepare for the entrance exams. They must keep a check on the website. We have also appointed coordinators to conduct the examinations. Counselling of the same will also take place. GNDU’s entrance is modeled on various entrance exams conducted by reputed institutions,” he added.
