Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), today said there was a significant role of books in the life of students. While inaugurating a four-day book exhibition at the university, he threw light on the benefits of books and reading.

“Students should read to excel in their lives and develop the habit of reading which has been decreasing day by day,” he said. He said the reading habit should be started at home and school level.

The exhibition is being organised by Bhai Gurdas Library of the university in association of Sahitya Academy, New Delhi.

Prof Jaspal Singh said the exhibition would certainly promote reading habit among students. He also invited book lovers to take advantage of the exhibition.
