The rural police have booked a youth, Major Singh of Chhanna village, for allegedly harassing a married woman. Though the incident occurred on August 6, a complaint was lodged with the Lopoke police on Friday.

The 30-year-old complainant alleged that on August 6 noon, her husband went to a market for buying household items. “Taking advantage of this, Major Singh entered my house and resorted to indecent activities. When I opposed, he tore my clothes,” she alleged.

Meanwhile, her husband turned up and the accused fled while issuing threats. She alleged that she narrated the entire incident to her husband. She also alleged that Major Singh had been stalking her for quite some time and that she had complained to his family a number of times. The police have registered a case under Sections 354-B and 506 of the IPC against Major Singh who is yet to be arrested. — TNS
