Amritsar, June 12

A seminar on malaria control programme was held at Community Health Centre in Kalanaur, Gurdaspur. The event was held under the supervision of Senior Medical Officer Dr Lakhwinder Singh Athwal and District Epidemiologist Dr Prabhjot Kaur Kalsi.

Dr Athwal said, “We are observing the month of June as anti-malaria month and main objective of this event is to create awareness against malaria among general public”.

He said strict instructions had been given to health field staff to conduct fever survey in their respective areas. He said even public should make efforts for the control of mosquito breeding by cleaning their surroundings.

He added that malaria investigation and treatment was totally free in government hospitals so if anyone was facing symptoms of malaria, they should contact nearest government health facility. — TNS
