With admissions to the city colleges under way, traditional, professional and vocational courses seem to be the preference of students.

Suprabha Arya, admission and counselling head, BBK DAV College for Women, said, “There has been a jump in students applying for humanities courses. Students are taking interest in humanities as well as vocational courses, like bachelor of vocational studies, beauty and wellness, retail management among others.”

Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, said, “The students are coming for admissions in commerce, BCA, MCA, BA, degree in multimedia, journalism, etc.” — TNS
