CU scholarship test for students

Chandigarh University (CU) has come up with a Chandigarh University Scholarship and Admission Test (CU-SAT) for students, informed Dr RS Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University, here on Thursday. The university officials also launched CU-SAT portal for online scholarship test.

The academic scholarships worth Rs 10 crore can be bagged by students through an all India scholarship-based entrance test. The test will be conducted online in May and June across 19 states.

The university will also offer academic scholarship upto 25 per cent for the wards of security, military and paramilitary forces who will be seeking admission in various courses offered by the university.

The VC said, “The students can choose their own date as well session to appear for the test. The test will offer scholarships to more than 800 students in more than 50 under-graduate and MBA programmes offered at the university”.

The varsity will also offer 10 per cent academic scholarship to the wards of school teachers and university, college professors of Punjab as a mark of respect for their contribution towards building strong future for the nation. The institute will continue 5 per cent seats reservation in every course offered at the university for the wards of serving/martyred defence personnel.

Talking about aspirations of youth, he said, “The aspirations of youth have changed a lot with changing times and universities today should overhaul their academic structure to meet their expectations.”

He also discussed about the syllabus, innovations carried out by Chandigarh University. He also highlighted participation of students from the Majha area.
