Beopar mandal demands loan waiver

AMRITSAR: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) has released a charter of demands.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) has released a charter of demands. Members of the mandal said they would support the political party, which would accept their demands.

They demanded Rs 31,000 crore loan waiver and stressed that manifesto of political parties be made legal document. The beopar mandal also sought special economic package for Punjab.

PPBM president Piara Lal Seth demanded that the retirement age of business community be fixed at 60 years.

The traders demanded pension and medical insurance of Rs 10 lakh for GST registered businessmen and their dependents.

The PPBM demanded that the government must take measures to control population and implement uniform civil code in the country. They demanded that civic sense too has to be taught and inculcated in children. All these measures would help country improve law and order and sense of responsibility. The textile sector in the border districts of the state should be included in the list of qualifying u/s 80 (1)(b) of the Income Tax.

They demanded withdrawal of the professional tax from the state. Members of the beopar mandal also demanded that the GST compliance should be simplified for ease of doing business.
