Mobile seized from inmate

AMRITSAR: Central Jail authorities have confiscated a mobile phone from a jail inmate, identified as Satpal Singh, alias Satta, of Kundal village in Fazilka. According to information, the cell phone was seized during a checking in room number 3 of barrack 2.  A fresh case under Sections 42 and 52-A of the Prisons Act has been registered against him. Meanwhile, special task force personnel seized 100 gm of heroin from Ramandeep Singh, alias Raja, of Gumtala. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him. Prabhjit Singh, investigating officer, said they were trying to ascertain the source of the contraband. TNS
