Amritsar: A migrant was stabbed and robbed by three unknown persons near Pandori Lubana village here Thursday evening. The victim was identified as Mithun, alias Mithu, of Bihar. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The police have registered an FIR on the statement of his friend Parmod Sharma. Sharma stated to the police that on Thursday evening he gave Rs 10,000 to his friend Mithun and went away for work. He said at around 8:30 pm he got a call that Mithun was going to his quarter and reached near Pandori Lubana village when three unknown persons tried to snatch money from him. As he resisted their attempt the suspects stabbed him and took away the cash. The police have registered a case under Sections 394 and 34 of the IPC against unknown persons and launched further investigations in this connection. TNS

85-gm heroin seized, 3 held

Tarn Taran: A team of the local CIA staff have arrested three persons from two places and recovered 85 grams of heroin from their possession. The police on Friday said a team led by Sub Inspector Sarabjit Singh arrested Jagroop Singh of Jalloke from Cheema Kalan village and recovered 50 grams of heroin from his possession. He has been booked under Section 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act. A team led by another Sub Inspector Paramjit Singh arrested Kuldip Singh Deep of Thatha village and Gurbhej Singh Bheja of Pandori Ran Singh, who were riding a motorcycle sans number plate, and recovered 35 grams of heroin. The suspects have been booked under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act by the Sarhali police. oc

Girl ‘abducted’, one booked

Tarn Taran: The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366A of the IPC and Sections 7 and 8 of the POCSO Act, in connection with a case involving alleged abduction of a teenage girl from Khadoor sahib township, a week ago. Father of the girl told the police said that his daughter had gone to market in the evening but did not return. He said someone had abducted his daughter by luring her into marriage. oc
