Meet on cancer detection begins from November 16

The three-day 27th national conference of Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists-2018 will begin here on November 16. 

Member of Parliament Gurjit Singh Aujla, World Cancer Care global ambassador Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal and preventive oncologist NICPR-ICMR, Dr Ravi Mehrotra and organising chairperson of NIAOMPC Dr Simarpreet V Sandhu, announced the development. 

Dr Sandhu said, “For earlier detection of cancer, a free check-up camp will be organised at Ranjeet Avenue on November 12. The national conference will offer a didactic platform to the speakers and delegates, participating from across the globe will dwell on the theme Innovate-Integrate-Motivate, besides evolving a consensus to effectively combat the menace of orofacial diseases particularly oral cancer and pre-cancer.”

“The Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists (IAOMP) has partnered with FICCI Ladies Organisation, Amritsar Chapter, World Cancer Care Charitable Society,a global organisation and Voice of Tobacco Victims, the public face of tobacco movement in India to bring cancer awareness, education and screening facilities to people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to such services,” said Aujla. The national conference will also launch pan-India campaign against oral cancer: IAOMP CAN with cancer torch travelling from Amritsar to its final destination, Kerala.
