Amritsar, October 18

A team led by senior officials of Town Planning wing of the Municipal Corporation visited illegal colony and some other buildings on the Batala road here on Friday. The officials failed to take any affective action against the violators. The illegal colony was owned by a political leader, who reportedly abused an Assistant Town Planner (ATP) and the team returned after partial action. The MTP wing dug a road of illegal colony with ditch machine.

On the directions of MC Commissioner Komal Mittal, senior officials including Municipal Town Planner (MTP) IPS Randhawa, ATPs Jagdev Singh, Parminderjit Singh, Sanjive Devgan and Krishna reached at Batala road around 10.50 am. When the MTP wing employees were dismantling the road of colony, a local councillor came there and reportedly misbehaved with team members.

Then the team moved towards Crystal chowk and broke front elevation of a building. — TNS
