Man killed in road mishap

A man died while another riding pillion was injured after a “rashly” driven car hit their bike near Vallah here on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sher Bahadur while the injured as Bhupinder Singh. They worked as labourers in a factory at the focal point at Vallah.

Complainant Kuldeep Singh stated to the police that he, along with the victims, worked as a labourer at Aneja Food Products, Sifti Ghee, factory at Vallah. At around 12.30 pm, he, along with Lovepreet Singh, Sher Bahadur and Bhupinder, was going towards Vallah when a rashly driver car (PB02CN1831) hit their bike, leaving the duo seriously injured, on Mehta Road. They were rushed to the SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital where doctors declared Sher Bahadur dead. Bhupinder is under treatment.

The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC against the car driver, identified as Harjinder Singh of Navipur village. No arrest has been made till now, said the police authorities.
