Man killed in mishap

Gurnam Singh, son of Niranjan Singh, a resident of New Jawahar Nagar, lost his life when a speeding vehicle hit his scooter. He was going to the Vallah vegetable market on his scooter when the incident took place.

Balbir Singh, the uncle of the deceased, stated to the police that the driver of the goods carrier hit his scooter from behind due to which Gurnam sustained multiple injuries and he was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police arrested the driver, identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Subhash Chander and a resident of Jawahar Nagar, Batala Road. He originally hails from Uttar Pradesh. He was later released on bail while a case under Sections 279, 304-A, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC has been registered against him.
