Amritsar, March 29

Following a tip-off, the CIA staff has nabbed Tejinder Singh alias Teji of the Guru Nanank Pura area for fraud and counterfeiting the registration plate of his vehicle. Teji was driving a taxi for personal use by fixing a fake number plate in order to evade tax.

Now, a case under Sections 420 and 472 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him. Police officials said that Teji owns a Toyta Innova car having the original number PB-01-A-1213. However, in order to evade inspection, he tempered with the registration number plate and fixed a fake number PB-02-BM-7779. He was intercepted at the firecracker market on Chamrang Road. He could not produce any documents of the vehicle due to which the police got suspicious of him. He was produced in the court and brought on police remand for further investigations.
