Man crushed to death under car

Amritsar, November 20

In a hit-and-run case, a person was killed after being crushed under a speeding car at Daburgi Bridge here on Monday evening.

Shiv Kumar, an eye witness, said around 7.30 pm, he was going to Daburji village on his bicycle.

Shiv said when he reached near the bridge, a speeding car coming from rge Jalandhar side hit an unknown pedestrian, leaving him dead on the spot. The car driver fled from the spot after the incident.

ASI Jatinder Singh, in charge of the Darshan Avenue police post said a case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC had been registered at the Sultanwind police station. He said the police had launched a hunt to arrest the car driver. — TNS
