Man caught with heroin

Tarn Taran: A team of the local narcotic cell has seized 210-gm heroin from Palwinder Singh Tona of Nathupur village. Sub-Inspector Sukhraj Singh, in charge of the cell, said a case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Chohla Sahib police station. OC

Two held with intoxicants

Phagwara: The police have arrested two persons for drug peddling. The suspects have been identified as Kuldip Singh of Nangal Colony and Ashutosh of Thapar Colony in Phagwara. Phagwara SP Mandeep Singh said 35-gm heroin and 15 intoxicating injections were recovered from Kuldip Singh, near Kherra railway crossing, while Ashutosh was nabbed with 1,235 intoxicating capsules near Kot Rani Chowk. House burgled

Phagwara: The house of Joginder Singh, a German NRI, was reportedly burgled in New Satnampura locality, Phagwara, on Wednesday night. Thieves took away clothes, an LED and CCTV cameras. Acting on the complaint of his caretaker Shinda Singh, the police have slapped Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. OC
