Man arrested for rape of teenaged daughter

In a shocking incident, a minor teenage girl was allegedly raped by her father. The crime came to light when the victim approached the Sadar police station, where a complaint was registered in this connection.

The accused was subsequently arrested by the police. The accused was identified as Raju, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, located in the Batala road area.

In her complaint, the victim, who is a seventh standard student, stated to the police that her mother died several years ago and her father got married for the second time. She said several months ago her step mother had gone to her native place at Patna. She alleged that taking advantage of this, he raped her. But, she could not tell about it to anyone.

She alleged that on February 12 at 9 am, when her step mother had gone to a temple, in her absence, the accused again raped her. This time she narrated the entire incident to her teacher, who further brought the same into the knowledge of child Development project officer (CDPO). They further approached the Sadar police, where a case under Section 376 of the IPC, besides Sections 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered against the accused.

Palwinder Singh, SHO, Sadar police station, said the accused was arrested following registration of the case. He said it was a serious case. The girl had to approach her teacher after she was repeatedly raped by her father, he added.
