Amritsar, March 16

The Majha House will organise its third literary festival on March 23 and 24. Preet Gill, founder of the Majha House, said, “It has always been our aim and endeavour to invite the very best minds to the Majha House, people who can ignite minds with their ideas and thoughts and compel you to engage in lively discussions about topics that are sensitive yet provocative enough to merit discussion.”

The third festival will feature eminent personalities and writers, renowned in the world for their exceptional and exemplary work, including Navtej Sarna, former ambassador to the US and a writer; Hartosh Bal, journalist and writer; Jerry Pinto, a recognised writer; Reshma Qureshi, an acid-attack survivor and model; Rakshanda Jalil, literary historian, writer and critic; Harsh Mander, social activist; and many others.

Gill further added that such personalities will spark the imagination of the youth with their ideas and views. The first day of the festival will conclude with a musical evening dedicated to the memory and immortal ghazals of revered Jagjit Singh. The second day will conclude with a mesmerising performance of Dastangoi by Sunil Mehra and Askari Naqvi, a tradition of dramatic rendition of stories at Radission Blu. Guru Nanak Dev University too has offered collaborations and sponsorships. She said that a huge footfall is expected at the two day festival, comprising students from various institutes of the city and of course from the learned and curious.
