Jasmine Kaur, a shot-put state champion clinched gold medal on first day of 29th North India Athletic championship, kicked off at Taran Tarn today.

In under-16 category, Jasmine has thrown 12.42 meters and won the first prize. The record on North Zone is 12:80 meters. A 14-year-old, Jasmine Kaur, is a native of village Smundrian and one the best shot put players in her age group.— TNS
