Inderpreet Chadha suicide: Another accused seeks bail

A day after Harjit Singh Chadha, one of the accused in Inderpreet Singh Chadha suicide case, moved his bail application, another accused, Ravinder Kaur Bumrah, also filed bail papers.

Inderpreet Singh Chadha, former vice president of the Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) and son of its former disgraced president Charanjit Singh Chadha, had committed suicide on the airport road on January 4. The police had found several suicide notes in this connection. The government had constituted a special investigating team (SIT) headed by LK Yadav, IG, Crime, for probe.

The SIT had arrested nine suspects in the case following preliminary probe. Among those arrested include Harjit Singh Chadha, Davinder Singh Sandhu, Vijay Umat, Inderpreet Singh Anand, school principal Ravinder Bumrah and her husband Varundeep Singh Bumrah, K Ghuman, Gursewak Singh.

Harjit Chadha had moved a bail application in the local court yesterday while raising questions over the sequence of events given in the suicide case. The court has fixed March 13 as the next date of hearing while Bumrah’s application would be heard on March 14.
