Amritsar, July 7

Dr Shakeen’s Eye, Dental and Lasik Laser hospital has become the first hospital in the city to get accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI).

An accreditation from the NABH requires the hospital to follow stringent standards and objectives to comply with all aspects in the facilities provided by it.

Dr Shakeen Singh said: “It took around two years to complete this process during which the NABH team visited the hospital thrice. During each visit, they conducted long inspections.”

He said the NABH accreditation would better the services for the public as more hospitals would try to compete with each other to better their quality of services.— TNS
