Heroin seized from Pak train

AMRITSAR: Customs sleuths have confiscated 1 kg of heroin from a wagon of a goods train that came from Pakistan to the Attari railway station here on Saturday.

Customs sleuths have confiscated 1 kg of heroin from a wagon of a goods train that came from Pakistan to the Attari railway station here on Saturday. Dipak Kumar Gupta, Commissioner, Customs, in a statement issued here, stated that while rummaging the empty wagons, officers detected two packets weighting 502 gm and 533 gm concealed on the upper side cavities in one of the wagons.

Preliminary testing confirmed that the seized contraband was heroin. Gupta informed that the customs bought some highly sophisticated machines, such as ‘boroscope’ to detect narcotics recently.
