GNDU gets HUDCO funds

Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has received a grant of Rs 75 lakh as financial assistance from Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative for the renovation of toilets at Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Boys’ Hostel.

Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has received a grant of Rs 75 lakh as financial assistance from Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative for the renovation of toilets at Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Boys’ Hostel. Apart from this, Rs 9 lakh will be spent by the university from its own resources for this purpose. Upon successful completion of the first phase, HUDCO will consider for renovation of toilets in other buildings of the university. TNS

Gun, mobile stolen

Unknown persons decamped with a double-barreled gun and a mobile phone after breaking into a house located near Gumtala. Rashpal Singh, the complainant, said he along with his family had gone to his in-laws house near Dera Baba Bhuri Wale on Tarn Taran road. After returning, he found the grills of the kitchen broken and  a .12 bore gun along with a mobile phone missing. A case has been registered and hunt is on for the culprits, the police said. TNS
