GNDU constituent colleges to start Classes XI, XII from next session

Three constituent colleges of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) are going to start senior secondary classes from the upcoming session.

GNDU College, Pathankot; GNDU College, Narot Jaimal Singh; and Bebe Nanaki University College, Mithra, will take admissions to Classes XI and XII under the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). Students will be able to take admission to science, humanities and commerce streams in these English medium colleges from 2019 onwards.

“The staff of these colleges will teach students of Classes XI and XII. The admission will take place on merit. We plan to extend it to our other constituent colleges in future,” said Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, GNDU.

“The facilities offered at these colleges will be better than any private schools in terms of infrastructure,” he added.

Officials of these colleges will look after these classes.

The university is also planning to make students of Classes XI and XII of opportunities in their streams.

“We are beginning it in three colleges as of now. The idea is to ensure that quality education is provided at the senior secondary level to students. The best teachers in their fields will teach them. They can take admission to university colleges if they want. The classes will start from the 2019 session. However, the seats will be limited in numbers,” said Kamaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, GNDU.

The university will also prepare students for competitive examinations in near future.
