After the whooping success of ‘Ambarsariya’, the hit jodi of producer Kumar Taurani and director Mandeep Kumar are coming with yet another Punjabi entertainer starring Gippy Grewal. The title of the movie ‘Kaptaan’ is based on the lead character played by Gippy in this movie due to be released on May 20.

The film star cast was in the city for promotions and Gippy was seen with his on-screen leading lady Karishma Kotak, who will be making her debut with the film. The other stars in the film include Monika Gill, Kanwaljeet Singh, Pankaj Dhir, Prince Kanwaljeet Singh, Amar Talwar, Daljinder Basra, Rana Jang Bahadur and Seema Kaushal. Directed by Mandeep Kumar, the film will present Gippy as a man of law, working hard to succeed, facing the challenge to prove himself to his father and a childhood love unfulfilled.

“It is one of the most important movies of my career and ‘Kaptaan’ is creativity personified. I believe it will be loved by the audience. All the actors in the film have really worked hard to keep it as close to reality sans the melodrama,” says he.

Actor Monika Gill too said that she can’t hide her excitement given the subject and treatment of the film. ‘Kaptaan’ is very close to my heart. I am glad I got to work with such an experienced team of professionals. There was so much to learn. The film is just a simple action-drama love story. You will definitely experience moments in it that will connect with the audience, some every day life experiences. ”Making her cinematic debut, model and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Kotak will be seen on the silver screen for the first time.

Being in front of the camera was not as difficult as she had thought, she admitted. “I was thrilled when I was offered the role as I believed in the film’s script. Also, it comes from a big production house and has a team of professionals who have already left a mark in the industry. It has every element from dance to drama to comedy in the optimal proportion.”

The team also visited Golden Temple during the promotional tour.
