The holy city has witnessed at least four instances of vehicle thefts in the past 14 hours. Anti-social elements stole two cars, a truck laden with rice bags and a motorcycle from within the city limits.

Satnam Singh, the driver of a truck, stated to the Gate Hakima police that he had parked his struck carrying 492 bags of rice at the Dharm Kanda in the Bhagtanwala grain market. The truck was stolen on Wednesday. Meanwhile, two cars were stolen from the Civil Lines area. Car owners Raj Kumar and Vaneet Khanna lodged a complaint with the Ranjit Avenue police post, stating that miscreants took away their cars, which were parked outside their homes in the Ranjit Avenue area. The police have registered separate cases in this connection.

Similarly, Ranjit Singh reported to the Majitha road police that he had parked his bike outside a hospital on the Majitha road, which was stolen.
