FIR sought against former Cong man

AMRITSAR: Amritsar East councillors on Monday met the Police Commissioner and lodged a complaint against former Congress leader Mandeep Singh Manna for allegedly using derogatory language against Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

Amritsar East councillors on Monday met the Police Commissioner and lodged a complaint against former Congress leader Mandeep Singh Manna for allegedly using derogatory language against Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

The councillors sought the registration of a case against him. Sidhu was elected from the Assembly segment in 2017 elections.

They said Manna was tarnishing the image of Sidhu through his posts on social media. Councillors Shalinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Jatinder Singh, Mandeep Kaur, Rajinder Singh Saini and Dalbir Kaur were part of the delegation that met the Police Commissioner. — TNS
