Even as the city police remains clueless about the brutal murder of Chheharta resident Sruinder Singh, members of his family today demanded action against the hospital staff, which failed to provide timely treatment to him.

Surinder Singh was shot dead by unidentified armed persons outside Mata Kaulan hospital on 100-feet Road on Thursday evening.

Speaking to the media at their home, his family members urged the Police Commissioner to arrest the culprits soon. They alleged that the CCTV camera footage recorded the entire incident and captured a youth pumping bullets in Surinder Singh. The accused should be identified and put behind bars, they added.

They said the footage also revealed that he was crying for help from the hospital staff, but they did not bother to provide timely medical aid to him. It was only after the intervention of the police that the hospital doctors took him to hospital and gave him first-aid before referring him to a private hospital. Had they provided aid on time, Surinder Singh might have been alive today.
