Prof Herm emphasised the importance of sports nutrition and period of training for the sports performance.

He said the sports nutrition played a significant role in raising excellence of sportspersons.

He added that the training protocol, which includes the training period and nutrition, was different for male and female players.

On the occasion, food values of different nutrients were also discussed as per the requirements of sportspersons.
