Amritsar, September 20

The Chheharta police have booked a doctor for “negligence” that lead to the death of a 15-year-old girl.

Sonu Singh, father of the deceased, said his daughter Simran Kaur fell ill all of a sudden and he took her to nearby medical store-cum-clinic of Dr Bobby.

Terming Dr Bobby a quack, he alleged that the accused continued administering her medicine through drip. When her condition deteriorated, Sonu took her to a private hospital but the latter, finding her critical, referred her to another hospital on Verka bypass. He said the condition of the girl did not improve so the family was taking her to another hospital but she died midway. He alleged that it was due to Dr Bobby’s negligence that his daughter lost her life.

He said the doctors attending her told that excessive administering of glucose inflicted damages on her kidneys that led to her death.

The police have registered a case under Section 304 of the IPC against Dr Bobby who is yet to be arrested. He has been absconding. — TNS
