DC unfurls Tricolour in Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran, August 16

Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal unfurled the national flag and took salute from the contingents of the Punjab police, students and others at a district-level programme organised on the 73rd Independence Day on Thursday.

Lok Sabha MP Jasbir Singh Dimpa, MLAs Dharmbeer Aginihotri, Ramanjit Singh Sikki District and Sessions Judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa and SSP Dhruv Dahiya among others were present.

Sabharwal recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who sacrificied their lives for the country. The DC also highlighted the schemes of the state government, such as farm loan waiver.

A cultural programme was presented and kin of freedom fighters and others with remarkable performances in different fields were honoured.

Sewing machines were also distributed among women of economically weak families.
