The FICCI FLO culminated its year-round activities and project Pankh, in collaboration with NGO Missiondeep, with a gala show and fashion exhibition on Friday. Pernia, who is a credited with bringing global fashion brands to India under her label Pernia’s Pop Up and also introducing online marketing for designer brands, expressed her excitement to be a part of such campaigns. “Fashion when given a meaning can really help to reach out to many. It was good to see some talent being honed through such endeavors,” she said. Pernia also conducted a personal session with FLO members, sharing business and branding tips with young women entrepreneurs of city.

“Project Pankh, our one year skill training program with Missiondeep girls, led by our panel of FICCI FLO mentors, culminated today as well. Girls from underprivileged families were supported in their education as well as skill development under the guidance of our mentors. The response for their creations in the exhibition today spoke volumes about the success of our project,” said Arushi Verma, who will be the chairperson for the FICCI FLO Amritsar chapter.

“The sales by project Pankh will be used in making smart classrooms at Missiondeep. The art will be put at the art galleries in Delhi,” said Arushi.

Chairperson Gowri Bansal shared that more such projects would be undertaken by FICCI FLO in the coming years as well.

“It give us immense joy to exhibit and place our project Pankh students and their artistic and creative outcomes on the same platform as country’s most renowned fashion entrepreneur Pernia Quershi. Imparting wings of skills to these underprivileged 200 girls have been our prime focus this year and we and happy we have come out victorious.”
