Counselling for admissions starts at GND varsity

The Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) on Monday began with its counselling for science and techincal courses on its campus. The counselling will conclude on July 12. The first day of the counselling saw a number of students preferring science courses over the technical ones. Counselling was held for first 400 students, who had qualified the Common Entrance Test (CET).

The counselling was held for B.Pharmacy, BSc (Hons) physics, chemistry, human genetics, BSc (Hons) botany, mathematics, BSc (medical lab. technology), MSc (Hons) zoology, B.Tech (textile processing technology), B.Tech (computer engineering), etc.

Joginder Singh came from Haryana for admission of his daughter Lovedeep Kaur, who was keen on taking admission in BSc honours. She said, “It is the academic reputation of the institute, which attracted me to opt for this course.”

Upasana, a parent, said, “The university has made elaborate arrangements besides establishing helpdesks for parents and students.”

Dr SS Chimni, coordinator of the counselling, said, “There is special seating arrangement for parents. We are also offering easy fee payment options.”

Dr Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, co-coordinator of the counselling, said, “The response is not low as such. Students have various options due to variety of courses.”
